Sodium Lactate

Sodium lactate is a natural humectant, moisturiser and pH regulator. For lotions replace the liquid glycerine with sodium lactate, in cold process soap, Sodium Lactate helps to produce a harder bar of soap that lasts longer in the shower.

Produced from renewable resources and completely biodegradable makes sodium lactate a better choice when moisturisation is desired. Studies have shown sodium lactate to be a better short term and long term moisturiser than glycerine.

Usage rate in cold process soap: .5% – 4%, or 1 tsp per 500 grams of oils.
