Myrrh essential oil was widely used by the ancient Egyptians for medication (and also mummification!)

Effect on mind: Lifts feelings of weakness, apathy and lack of incentive. Amplifies strength and courage.

Effect on body: Works well with problems such as bronchitis, colds, sore throats and coughs. Excellent for mouth and gum disorders. Stimulates appetite, stems diarrhea, flatulence, acidity and bad breath. Said to invigorate the immune system.

Effect on skin: Has a cooling action that can help reduce inflammation in boils, skin ulcers, sores and weeping wounds. May be effective with eczema and athletes foot.

Do not apply undiluted essential oils to your skin. Use a carrier oil or solvent to dilute first.

Eyes

Do not drip undiluted essential oils into eyes as this will cause a chemical burn and may result in temporary blindness. Diluted essential oils may be used close to the eyes. More here.

Ears

Undiluted essential oils should not be dripped into the ears, but diluted essential oils may be placed on a cotton wad for partial insertion.

Children

Keep essential oils in a place where young children cannot reach them, and never let them handle essential oils bottles.
