Palmarosa Essential Oil

Palmarosa essential oil has a sweet floral, with a hint of rose smell and is pale yellow in colour.

Also known as “Indian Geranium Oil” and is often used to adulterate more expensive rose.

Hint: Mix equal parts palmarosa and geranium to give a rose like aroma.

Effect on mind:ย Calms the mind, yet has an uplifting effect, while clearing muddled thinking. It is used to counter physical and nervous exhaustion, stress-related problems and nervousness.

Effect on body:ย Can have a cooling effect on the body which can help reduce fevers.

Effect on skin:ย ย Stimulates natural secretion of oil to improve dry skin. Aids skin regeneration.

Blends well with:ย Bergamot, Geranium, Lavender, Lime, Petitgrain, Rose, Sandalwood, Sweet Orange, Ylang Ylang

Do not apply undiluted essential oils to your skin. Use a carrier oil or solvent to dilute first.

Eyes

Do not drip undiluted essential oils into eyes as this will cause a chemical burn and may result in temporary blindness. Diluted essential oils may be used close to the eyes.ย More here.

Ears

Undiluted essential oils should not be dripped into the ears, but diluted essential oils may be placed on a cotton wad for partial insertion.

Children

Keep essential oils in a place where young children cannot reach them, and never let them handle essential oils bottles.
